Stripped Down Solo Exhibition at Haven Gallery, Northport, NY / May 7 - June 5, 2022

In 2017 I examined my art and looked at how it all made me feel. I ended up walking away with the things that I enjoyed most and set aside the remainder. It gave me a better perspective on what I was trying to say and also offered a good solid ground to build upon. Since then I have been slowly and carefully adding elements to my work. Through the changes, the one element that has held it all together is paper. Paper allows us to know the stories of the past and I’ve always been drawn to that notion. So in my work I use paper to build the shapes to tell my thoughts. In most instances I will use box-like or folded paper shapes, but more recently I want to explore the insides of these containers to see what complexities I might find. As these thoughts progress I continue to use skeletons to interact with the other objects as a way to allow one to focus on the idea without any identity of the figures interfering.
