< STILL LIFE
This series marks a new space for exploration, bringing together curated groups of objects to tell a story or construct a visual word puzzle, known to some as a rebus. Sometimes humorous and sometimes deeply personal, these arrangements occasionally weave in fragments of my own history using objects collected from a single, specific time period.

< FIGURATIVE
This is a fresh and deliberate direction for me, tapping into a way of painting I have wanted to explore since I was a young adult. Here, human and animal figures share space with the typography and aged textures that have always defined my work. While it is not where I spend the bulk of my studio time, it is an area I will slowly build out as the need strikes.

JASON LIMON
A single road. When I started painting full time back in 2007, I was already drawn in by American nostalgia, ephemera, and material culture, though I did not fully realize it then. Across nearly two decades, that fascination has been the underlying glue of my work. While I sometimes leaned directly into it and other times wandered off to explore adjacent ideas, every single painting, whether built in acrylic or oil, has been a stepping stone.
In 2021, I picked up oil painting and began showing those pieces under the pseudonym Jinn Olasmo, an anagram of my real name. Working in oils forced me to slow down my process, changing how I think and work in the studio. While my acrylics allowed me to chase complex narratives and sharp structures, the oil paintings worked in the background, teaching me a deeper patience with light, texture, and observation.
Every piece, past and present, has been essential to my growth. However, I no longer want to travel two separate roads as an artist. Going forward, all works created under the Olasmo name belong to my main body of work under my true name. My goal is a single, unified path where you can see variations in subject and medium, but over time, you realize there is no difference at all. Bear with me as I work through these shifts and continue to build out this unified space.

THE REVEAL >
These works stem from a foundational love for vintage packaging, advertisements, and material culture. They explore the idea of looking at a familiar surface while simultaneously revealing what lies beneath. What began as an exploration of mid-century ephemera paired with exposed skeletal structures has evolved into a continuous study of what these physical objects conceal and hold.

NARRATIVE >
Representing the bulk of my work since 2007, these pieces explore imaginative scenarios born entirely from my mind. This archive holds the foundation of my past painting before my recent shifts in direction. While my current focus leans heavily into other series, these imaginative narratives remain a cornerstone of my artistic history.
